About Van Horn Design
Before striking out on my own I was a "Hypermedia Specialist" at u1.net, a leading-edge technology consulting firm based in Marlton, NJ. After u1.net fell victim to the Tech Crash of 2000, I started Van Horn Design as a Web design and development consultancy, starting with a small clientele of former clients from u1.net. Over the next decade that clientele grew to include individuals and organizations from across the United States and on 4 continents. Van Horn Design closed it's virtual doors in 2010 when it's largest client, the world-renowned health system Penn Medicine, offered me the opportunity to join their Web team.

The Old Pitch
The following is the "About Us" copy that was last edited on the site sometime during or prior to 2010. Having to write self promotional crap like this was one of the things I did not enjoy when working for myself. Cut me some slack when you read it, they didn't have writing classes at the Art Institute.
Kevin Van Horn is an Internet Designer & Technologist bringing over twenty years of design experience to your project; half of which has been dedicated to web site design and development.
Specializing in accessible, standards compliant web design he has shepherded over a hundred websites through design and development, from start to finish.
After completing his Commerial Art studies at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, PA, he made the leap to electronic design just as the internet revolution began. While working at the award winning Internet Consulting firm u1.net as lead designer, Kevin worked on online solutions for several Fortune 500 companies such as General Electric, SAIC, Reuters, Prudential and Kvearner.
Since striking out on his own as an independent consultant Kevin has continued his pursuit of web design and usability excellence. Recent projects have been for organizations ranging from Lockheed Martin and the University of Pennsylvannia Health System to brochure websites for small local companies and individuals.
